EXPERIENCE
FCE Education, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan)
April 2018 – Present
Program Development Manager
- As the Program Development Manager at FCE Education, Inc., I lead the development and implementation of innovative educational programs designed to enhance the learning experience across our franchise network. My primary focus has been on the launch and growth of Wonder Code, a pioneering educational initiative that introduces children to programming through English. This program leverages the dual skills of language learning and technical proficiency to prepare students for a globalized digital future.
- My responsibilities encompass the entire program lifecycle from curriculum development to teacher training and ongoing support. I am actively involved in enhancing educational content, delivering comprehensive training sessions to educators, and providing continual support to ensure the program's success in schools.
- Additionally, I am tasked with exploring and developing new programs that can further expand our educational offerings. This includes integrating engaging platforms like CodeCombat, which further enriches our curriculum by providing interactive learning experiences that captivate and educate simultaneously.
- Through strategic planning and a deep commitment to educational excellence, I aim to consistently elevate the quality of education provided to our franchises, ensuring that each program not only meets but exceeds expectations.
East West Consulting (Tokyo, Japan)
November 2015 – March 2018
Executive Search Consultant
- As an Executive Search Consultant, I was responsible for working with clients to determine their strategic objectives and understand their hiring needs, finding and interviewing potential candidates for those positions, and finally submitting a shortlist of potential candidates to the client for consideration. This is a fast-paced performance-driven position which requires a consultant who has excellent time management skills and is goal oriented.
James English School (Koriyama, Fukushima, Japan)
August 2010 – October 2015
- I was responsible for enriching students’ lives by expanding their command of the English language and their understanding of the countries and cultures in which English is spoken. I worked with students as young as two, and as experienced as seventy-five. Most of my students were from a Japanese background, but the lessons learned while teaching to a Japanese centric set of students could be applied to a wide range of students from different cultures.
Ogden Computers (Self Employed)
January 2007 – August 2010
- As a business owner, I was not only responsible for consulting with clients and analyzing their IT needs, but also for the day to day operations of running a business. My company had a three-tier system of services. The bulk of my work was done in software education, where I would consult with clients and provide their employees with IT solutions and education for improving productivity. Small business system repair and maintenance was the second set of services offered, where I offered support with databases and networks primarily, but also with hardware maintenance. Finally, the third service offered was a combination of the other two services for individual home users.
